Uncovering the Secrets of the Healthiest Diet on the planet

Paleo, Keto, Mediterranean, Carnivore, Intermittent fasting... is your head spinning yet?

With all the diet fads out there, how do you know which one to choose to reach your personal goal? Well, what is your personal goal? Is it weight loss, increased energy, athletic optimization, cancer-preventing, heart-health, fighting brain fog, perimenopausal support, animal welfare, or low carbon footprint?

Amazingly, it doesn't really matter which of these goals you are trying to achieve! Research continuously shows that the answer is an almost one-size fits all diet: The Plant-Based Diet.

The Mystery Unveiled

Imagine a diet that not only nourishes your body but also promotes longevity, vitality, and overall well-being. Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, prepare to be amazed because the healthiest diet on the planet is real, and it's time to shine the spotlight on this extraordinary way of eating.

Healthy Diet

Plant-Based Paradise

Say hello to the plant-based paradise that is the key to optimal health. This diet is centered on the bountiful goodness of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds. By filling your plate with vibrant colors and a variety of nutrient-dense foods, you are not only nourishing your body but also reaping a multitude of health benefits.

Why Plant-Based?

Embracing a plant-based diet is not just a trend; it's a lifestyle choice backed by science. Research has shown that plant-based diets are rich in essential vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants, which play a crucial role in preventing chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain types of cancer. In addition, plant-based eating is environmentally friendly, making it a win-win for your health and the planet.

The Power of Whole Foods

One of the cornerstones of the healthiest diet on the planet is the emphasis on whole, unprocessed foods. By choosing foods in their natural state, you are maximizing their nutritional value and reaping the full spectrum of health benefits. From vibrant fruits and vegetables to hearty whole grains and legumes, whole foods are nature's gift to our well-being.

Let's Be Real

Let's be honest, plant-based and vegan are two very different things. After all, skittles and margarine are vegan, but they are most definitely NOT plant-based. Vegan foods are those containing no animal products (that means meat, dairy, eggs, etc.) whereas plant-based foods are vegan foods that are totally natural or very close to nature (think fresh fruits, vegetables, beans, etc). Even canned and frozen veggies/fruits are plant-based as long as there are not a ton of additives and processing. The best way to tell if a food is plant-based is to read the ingredients on the label. If ingredients in your canned black beans are black beans, water, and salt, you are looking at a plant-based food.

If you pick up Beyond Burgers and read the label, you will read that they contain: pea protein, brown rice protein, red lentil protein, faba bean protein, canola, coconut, and avocado oil, water, natural flavors, dried yeast, cocoa butter, methylcellulose, potato starch, pea starch, potassium lactate, apple extract, pomegranate concentrate, potassium salt, spice, vinegar, vegetable juice color, etc. While you are still looking at a bunch of plant-based ingredients, you are not looking at a plant based food, because there is a lot of processing involved (what is apple extract?). While the Beyond Burger has proven to be far healthier than the red meat alternative, you are better off keeping foods like these as a "sometimes" food.

The Rainbow Plate

When it comes to building your meals, think of your plate as a canvas waiting to be painted with a rainbow of colors. Each color represents a unique set of nutrients and phytochemicals that promote optimal health and vitality. So, go ahead and fill your plate with an array of colorful fruits and vegetables to create a masterpiece of flavor and nutrition.

Eating the healthiest diet on the planet is not about deprivation or restriction; it's about abundance and nourishment. By giving your body the nutrients it craves, you will experience increased energy, improved digestion, clearer skin, and a stronger immune system. Say goodbye to crash diets and fads, and hello to a balanced, sustainable way of eating that will transform your health from the inside out.

Embrace the Journey

As you embark on this journey to discover the healthiest diet on the planet, remember to be kind to yourself, and know that you can take your time with the transition. Just remember this one rule: the more plant-based foods you put on your plate, the less of the other stuff will fit in your plate and belly.
