Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I keep taking pain medication when having magnetic therapy?

A: It is recommended to avoid NSAIDs such as Tylenol and Motrin for 48 hours before and after treatment if possible. For pain control, dry, warm heat can be applied 2-4x/day as needed. This helps dilate blood vessels and calm inflammation.

Q: Is magnetic therapy painful?

A: Therapy is tailored to each patient. Magnetic therapy feels like a vibration in your tissues. Typically this does not cause pain but it is possible that some pain is experienced.

Q: Are there any contraindications to magnetic therapy?

A: This treatment is contraindicated with pregnancy (but can be used at sites away from the fetus), in patients that have implants with a battery/power source in the area of treatment, and patients with cancer.
