LONGEVITY MEDICINE
Longevity medicine is based in a health diet and exercise program. Through eating a mostly whole foods diet and getting the recommended combination of weight training and cardiovascular exercise, your body will naturally head toward a noninflammatory state and decrease your risk of chronic diseases.
Diet
Our practice endorses a whole foods plant-based diet which is a low inflammatory diet and can decrease your risk of cancer and other chronic diseases. Choosing to 'eat the rainbow' gives the most diverse array of nutrients and fuels every process in the human body.
We realize a plant-based diet may not be desirable or attainable for everyone. At the very least, we recommend avoiding fried and ultraprocessed foods as these are increasingly found to lead to increased risks of cancer and chronic disease. When choosing meats, stick to lean cuts of meat, ideally chicken or seafood while avoiding processed meats like burger meat or lunch meat.
exercise
A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. Attainable results in this area take consistency in application. Simply walking every day can be a great start, and increasing intensity as able will increase the benefits. Ideally 150 min of zone 2 cardio (greater than 60% Max Heart Rate) is the recommendation. Finding a workout partner can be a great way to adhere to your goals as well.
Weight training is also a necessary component in this area. It helps assure you have strong bones by strengthening your muscles and tendons, and benefits your cardiovascular health as well.
who keeps you moving?
Our practice is a multimodality approach with the goal of helping the body to heal itself and return you to optimized function. We use osteopathic manipulation to keep your body symmetric which helps keep down inflammation and balances the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. We use shockwave and magnet therapy as adjuncts to help recover more quickly from recent stress on the body from a hard workout or surgical intervention, and to heal chronic and acute injuries. We have a massage and cupping therapist available for maintenance or if there are problem areas you'd like to have treated. We also have a 1:1 personal training area that focuses on joint stabilization and injury prevention, as well as assisting in strengthening any joint or area that is a problem point.

When all of this is in check, or sometimes even when it isn't and you want to quantify your progress, a comprehensive bloodwork panel can help you learn what may be off and if there are any supplements or medications recommended to help you feel your best. Dr Betler works with Marek Health to provide this service to aid in androgen issues, nutrient deficits, cholesterol dysfunction, baseline inflammation, and more. They use a telehealth platform so you can learn from the comfort of your own home, and any needed treatments, be it hormone replacement, peptide therapy, or simply vitamin and mineral recommendations are shipped directly to your door!
